YEAR BACK IN IPU IN 2012
Year Back in GGSIPU or so called IPU is now becoming a real headache for the students of this UNIVERSITY and the parents whose students are studying in this university. I am getting a lot of queries about enquiring the YEAR BACK SYSTEM IN IPU, so I decided to let all know by this dedicated post on the PROMOTION IN IPU.
I want to keep this post as SIMPLE as I can so I'm writing the rules of PROMOTING the students in IPU in this post in points with some very good examples.
1)Suppose you took an admission in GGSIPU in 1st year. Then to get promoted in the 2nd year you need to score atleast 50% credits in 1st year.
Example:- In B.tech there are 52 credits in 1st year, so the student need atleast 27 credits to get promoted in the 2nd year. This rule will apply to all courses of IPU including BBA, BCA, M.TECH, BJMC,...etc.
2) Now you are in 2nd year. Here also you need to get atleast 50% credit in 2nd year plus(+) 90% total credit in 1st year.
Example:-That means you have to clear 50% credits of 2nd year and also concentrate on your ESSENTIAL REPEATS or BACK PAPERs to get clear atleast 90% credits in total( includes what you have already passed out in 1st year).

3) Now you are in 3rd year.Here also you need to get atleast 50% credits in 3rd year plus(+) 90% credits in your previous year i.e. 2nd year.
Example:- The courses which are generally of only 3yrs you need to get atleast 98% credits clear to get the DEGREE.
*** IN B.TECH ONE NEEDS TO ATLEAST 200 CREDITS OUT OF 214 IN TOTAL TO GET DEGREE.
4) THIS STORY OF GETTING 50% credits in the current year and the 90% credits in previous year will go on.....till your number of years of degree.
5) NOTE:- THE NUMBER OF CREDITS REQUIRE TO GET DEGREE IN EACH COURSE ARE DIFFERENT.
6) NOTE:- YOU HAVE TO CLEAR YOUR ALL PAPERS IN (N+2) years. After that you will get a MERCY chance or LAST CHANCE to get it clear.
Exampe:- For a BBA course which is of 3yrs need to be cleared in 3+2=5yrs and after that you will get a mercy chance to get through.
NOW thats all what I want to share with you.all. There are protest going on against the IPU for the 90% credit in previous years. Don't know what's gonna be result of that. But possibly this ceiling of 90% credits in previous years will go off from the 2012. HOPE FOR BEST.
